Quote from Carlos Santana (Facebook May 15, 2020): We take time to celebrate the magnificent spirit of our beloved brother Jorge. He transitioned unto the realm of light that cast no shadow. The eyes of my heart clearly see him right in between our glorious and magnificent mother Josefina and our father Jose... They are caressing his face and kissing his hands showering him with Light and Love. We love cherish and honor your soul MEMO. Carlos and the Santana family.

Quote from Cindy Blackman-Santana (Facebook May 15, 2020): My brother in law, Jorge Santana, one of the most kind & gentle souls I’ve ever known. We miss you dearly already but know that you will soar in the Light & Love of God’s Grace. Your gentle eyes, heart, smile & warm melodies will forever be with us. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit. We love you.

Quote from Chuy Varela (Facebook June 29, 2020): Our brother Jorge Santana was laid to rest today at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. Family and friends were present to see him ascend on his heavenly journey. It was a simple Catholic ceremony with a heartfelt eulogy delivered by Abel Sanchez, Jorge's friend of 50 years. Dolores Huerta sent a recorded audio message and I read a letter by Paul Chavez, Cesar Chavez's son, who gave Jorge appreciation for his dedication to the struggle of La Causa and the UFW Movement. My condolences to Jorge's wife, Donna and the Santana family and all the friends present especially his bandmates who made it: Richard Bean, Pablo Tellez, Leo Rosales, Richard Segovia, Ismael (Irish), Marcia Miget, Gibby Ross, and all the others whose names I didn't know. Jorge is now with the angels and I know he's getting to work teaching Gabriel's band to play, "Suavecito." Rest in Peace brother!
